Wow!!! Look at those medals!
You could be confused thinking you were at the Olympics... these children have a medal haul equal to the most prestigious sporting event in the world. Well done everyone you are champions!
Wahoo! Visit to a volcano!!!
Our intrepid teacher was far too curious about the eruption of Mt Tongariro and beetled off with Andrew to check it out!!! Talk about keen. They brought us back some really cool volcanic rocks and lots of photos from the Department of Conservation Information Centre at Whakapapa Ski Village. It was a great day and plenty of information was gathered. That's inquiry learning for you!!!
No honestly we are doing maths!!!
Room 3 have been assessing their ability to create and continue patterns but have been a bit nibbly about it..... what better way to learn than eating. Just to make sure it fitted our school policy it was fruit kebabs. Yum!!!

What 's this? Hill surfing, skiing or sliding ????
The children could hardly believe it as Mrs Clark sprung a surprise on the school. "What were we going to do with plastic bags?",the children wondered. But much to their delight and surprise we hit the hill and the mud..... giggles erupted from children and soon they caught on to the possibilities the event provided. The clothes and the washing machines would fix the damage!!!
Our incredible edible gardens and orchard.
A small but hardy group of students joined Mrs Jones to plant the edible orchard. We have planted oranges, mandarins, lemons and gooseberries. The vegetable garden had a plant up to When we are able to snow peas, broccoli, rhubarb, silver beet and celery are now growing there.
Soon to come are strawberries and fruit trees when the weather co operates.
